In most cases, pregnancy tests can detect hCG, the pregnancy hormone, as early as seven to 10 days after unprotected sex. Although, the accuracy increases the closer you get to your next period.
Common pregnancy symptoms may include:
- A missed period
- Nausea or vomiting
- Frequent urination
- Weight gain or loss
- Swollen or tender breasts
The presence of any or all of these symptoms does not necessarily mean that you are pregnant. In fact, in some cases, woman may not experience any early signs of pregnancy; some even having a normal period during pregnancy.
These are also common symptoms of other health conditions too. Therefore, confirming a pregnancy through the most accurate means is important.
